Summary
 

The elusive creatures of mud and blood known as the dokkaebi live just off of Route 4 in east Texas, in the ancient pine forest known as the Tanglechase. Joon-Ho, a Korean immigrant with a shadowy past, and his estranged grandson Jae-Sun, a disillusioned small-time thug, are the only people in the nearby town of Vane who know the true nature of the dokkaebi. Together, they must figure out what’s causing the creatures to turn hostile. Perhaps it has something to do with the interdimensional portal at the heart of the Tanglechase, for it is from here that the past comes knocking, demanding a reckoning from both men.

There’s a beautiful old-growth pine forest in the eastern end of the state and, as someone who grew up there, this is my attempt to set the record straight. Korean mythology is rich with intrepid swordsmen who wander the wilderness going from one adventure to another, much like classic Western stories of the mysterious gunslinger. So this here is my fusion of two cultures that seem disparate on the surface but have a lot in common underneath: a modern Western with swords, magic, monstrous villains, and Love that transcends space and time. Hopefully people enjoy reading it as much as I did in dreaming it up.”

JULY 20, 2022 (SAN DIEGO, CA) — COMIC TAGS, the hybrid collectible that combines digital comic books and trading cards, launched a little over a year ago with a slate of title releases from its affiliate company SCOUT COMICS & ENTERTAINMENT HOLDINGS, INC. For the past year, both companies have been working with SCENAREX to develop a NEW Comic Tag collectible that will now include Bookchain® NFT technology. This version of Comic Tag will allow comic creators to share in the resale value of their comics in perpetuity. Imagine if Siegel and Schuster got a piece of every resale of Action Comics #1 or Stan Lee's estate always got a piece of the resale of Amazing Fantasy #15? This new product will launch at the 2022 San Diego Comic Con. 


This partnership expands the core Comic Tag product from a collectible card with digital download to include a full NFT offering.  Comic Tags with NFTs offer collectors more than a card or ability to read their comic book online, it offers them a permanent piece of their favorite comics. Both NFT and non-NFT Comic Tags will be available options to both creators and fans alike!

Summary

Knockturn County is an adult crime noir set in a classic children’s book universe. Various tales converge and collide in this county built on crime, as a rhyming narrative leads readers through a tangled web of death, booze, drugs, and betrayal. June 23, 2022 – As reported by Animation Magazine, Mercury Filmworks and Goodbye Productions has released a trailer their upcoming animated feature Once Our Land. 

Mercury Filmworks and Goodbye Productions will co-produce the animated feature Once Our Land, a fantasy/sci-fi period piece for family audiences based on the graphic novel by Peter Ricq. The announcement was made today by Chantal Ling, VP Original Series & Co-Productions and Amber Ripley, Founder, Goodbye Productions.
 
Set in 1830’s Europe, Once Our Land tells the story of 11-year-old Ingrid; a young girl forced to fend for herself in a ravaged city overrun by fearsome beasts from aother world. It’s in this cruel “past-apocalyptic” world where trust is in short supply that Ingrid forges an unlikely friendship with Fritz, a grizzled, old, eye-patched warrior with an unexpectedly eccentric personality. Together, Fritz and Ingrid embark on a dangerous journey to rid the city they love of the cruel beasts, and to learn to trust again.
 
Part light survival horror, part action, with strong heart and a healthy dose of levity-bringing humor, Once Our Land is a touching tale of trust and friendship set against the backdrop of eldritch horror.
 
The film adaptation reunites artist/director Peter Ricq with screenwriter Phil Ivanusic Vallée. The duo were the creative force behind multiple animated series including The League of Super Evil as well as the live-action feature film Dead Shack.
