January 18th, 2024 -- Scout Comics has partnered with Oren Segal's Management Production Entertainment (MPE) to develop Salvatore Vivenzio and Gabriele Falzone's DISTORTED for TV. Kevin Carroll is attached to adapt. Scout, Segal, and Carroll will produce.
Tom is a private investigator and one of the Distorted. Everything changes for him when he's hired by Elisa, the head of a shadowy organization, to track down others like him. However, Brennar is hunting them down as well. The two will chase the Distorted like predators but never meet, like parallel lines, until one fateful moment. Meanwhile, James is a young man who doesn't know what he wants from life. He's trying to find himself but is forced to deal with his powers… and his flaws. When he meets someone like him, he decides to commit a robbery and start a new life. On his trail is Mason, a Distorted serial killer who believes killing other Distorted will make him stronger. And it is he who will bring Tom and Brennar together and force them to confront each other.
Additionally, Scout and MPE are continuing to develop Louis Southard's MIDNIGHT WESTERN THEATER, the story of notorious Red Tom and his deadly posse who have laid claim to the once prosperous town of Liberty Springs. But will these outlaws be able to savor their sinful victory when two black-clad, supernatural strangers suddenly arrive?
Segal formed MPE in 2011 and has produced the following films, DON’T TELL MOM THE BABYSITTER’S DEAD (2024), A LOOK THROUGH HIS LENS (2024), THE CURSE OF DOWNERS GROVE (2015), #HORROR (2015) and BURNING PALMS (2010).
Kevin Carroll has worked in the story development departments at Paramount, MGM, as well as the office of Richard Donner and Lauren Schuler Donner. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2017 with a degree in Screenwriting. In 2018, he placed as a finalist for a Humanitas Fellowship for his pilot script, LIFE’S NO FAIRYTALE. Since starting at Management Production Entertainment (MPE) in 2018, he has worked on developing several projects, including multiple comic book adaptations, on which he is attached as a writer and producer.
